Reports to: Office Supervisor
Regular Hours of Work: Various hours.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Reading text, document use, numeracy, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory, finding information, and continuous learning. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol. Requires professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to type 50 wpm. Skills dealing with difficult customers.
Education and Experience: Minimum high school diploma and/or equivalent and/or 1-2 years customer service/clerical experience. Previous experience dispatching or driving truck is an asset.
Salary: Based on education and/or experience.
Benefits: Available after 3 month probation period to permanent employees.
Job Summary: Under the direction of the immediate supervisor the dispatcher receives, records, responds to and redirects the following categories of telephone calls: requests from various Police forces, various insurance companies, various auto clubs, auto dealerships and other repair facilities, and members of the public that require service. The dispatcher is responsible for evaluating the nature of the calls, prioritizing, and taking action and ensures follow up. The dispatcher will also redirect phone calls, or may take messages to be relayed to others within the organization. The dispatcher is the liaison between the tow driver and the customer.
Secondary, the dispatcher may assist walk in customers and will perform a variety of other administrative duties. Also, light duty office cleaning on a daily basis.
