ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – FULL TIME PERMANENT POSITION
The Town of Minnedosa, Rural Municipalities of Minto-Odanah and Oakview are partners in the Minnedosa Area Community Development Corporation. We are seeking an independent, self-motivated professional who is also a strong team player and who can focus on attracting new business/industry, business retention & expansion strategies and business start-up assistance to the town and surrounding area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating and promoting economic development in the area based upon the strategic and action plan as adopted by the Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years related experience, marketing and public relations skills. The candidate will also possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to multi-task. Relevant post-secondary education and/or economic development designation (Ec.D/CEcD) are considered an asset. A combination of experience and education will be considered. The candidate will possess a basic understanding of website updates, be fully computer and social media literate, and have excellent writing and presentation skills.
The hours of work are based on a 35 hour work week and are flexible. Some after hours and weekend activities are to be expected.
Wages level for an experienced, proficient candidate is scaled at $51,000-$58,500 per annum.
