Description

 

Western Canadian Aerial Ltd (formerly Ken Kane Aerial Spray) is Canada’s largest aerial application business and is based out of Minnedosa and Wellwood.

 

We are seeking an individual to help manage operations at our Wellwood location.

  

Duties include:

Be on call in the busy agricultural season 7 days a week to service customer needs

  • Receive and ship chemical and process necessary paperwork

  • Monitor inventory levels in chemical shed at Wellwood and advise Minnedosa office to order as necessary

  • Deliver chemical to farms and pick up returns as needed and process necessary paperwork

  • Deliver chemical to Carberry, Glenboro, and Treherne and mix and load if needed

  • Supervise and train ground staff

  • Assist ground staff in all day-to-day operations

  • General maintenance and repair at Wellwood, Carberry, Glenboro, and Treherne.

  • Monitor fuel levels at all sites and advise Minnedosa office

  • Meet with customers on site or on farm to hear comments or concerns

  • Complete before and after season inventory counts for reconciliation by Minnedosa office

  • Prepare chemical shed and necessary paperwork for warehouse audit

  • Monitor security system and heating system in chemical shed and bunk house twice-weekly in off-season

  • Clear yard of snow as necessary

  • Receive any off-season chemical shipments as they are delivered

  • Operation of office equipment - computer/fax/copier

  • Any other tasks that may be assigned by Minnedosa office

 

The successful applicant will be required to have or obtain a Certified Forklift Operator Certificate, WHIMIS and TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) Certificate. A Dealer’s Licence (Under the Pesticides and Fertilizers Control Act) is preferred but not essential.

  

Currently we are offering the position as a seasonal full-time position with the potential of becoming year-round employment. Preference will be given to applicants with an agricultural  background and knowledge of the potato industry.

  

Wage to be determined based on experience.
