West-Can Human Resource Solutions is currently recruiting a Recreation Manager for our client, the Municipality of Killarney - Turtle Mountain, to be based in Killarney Manitoba.


The Position


Reporting to the CAO / council, the Recreation Manager, in working with the Facility Manager, ensures the smooth operation of the Shamrock centre; coordinates and delivers all programs and services offered; successfully markets and promotes all community events and recreational activities as directed by the Municipality of Killarney - Turtle Mountain.


Position Requirements


                      Knowledge and experience in program development, promotion and delivery.

                      Superior interpersonal and communication skills and a flexible attitude.   

                      Strong administrative/bookkeeping, computer, organizational and time management skills

                      Proven ability to effectively balance the demands of multiple responsibilities, priorities and personalities.

                      Possess a valid driver’s license and able to travel and use personal vehicle for work purposes.

                      Able to work varied hours and Holidays

                      Experience working with children would be considered an asset



                      Combination of education and experience in hospitality, recreation management, administration, program development, event management and/or customer service. Post-secondary education preferred



                      Plans and develops recreation programs to ensure activities and events are made available for all community members.

                      Facilitates and assists with the provision of recreation programs and special events by community organizations.

                      Ensures that all programs and activities are implemented according to relevant legislation, policies, budgets, and procedures, including administrative duties such as invoicing, accounts receivable, and deposits.

                      Researches sport and recreation programs, trends, funding sources and project requirements; submits and tracks grant / funding applications as identified

                      Ensure recreation information is available, which includes the facilities website and updating social media.

                      Provide monthly reports of hours worked to CAO.

                      Responsible for supervision of programming and bowling lanes.
