HyLife Foods, a division of the HyLife organization, a leading primary pork processor for domestic and world markets is seeking a responsible and versatile Operations Administrative Assistant. This position is based in the vibrant community of Neepawa, Manitoba which has a reputation for its beauty and high quality of life.

The Operations Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the production supervisors with their day to day reporting, employee time keeping in Kronos, and other general admin requests. The successful candidate should have good written and verbal communication skills and must enjoy working in fast paced environment and enjoy a variety of tasks.  Superior computer skills are a must. The Operations Administrative Assistant will report to the Production Manager.

This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions:

  • Perform general office duties and administration functions such as:  file, print forms, scan documents, and order supplies as required.
  • Perform various duties requiring access to the various production, warehousing and shipping sites.
  • Anticipate and manage calendar schedules and activities with an understanding of general priorities.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Perform paper verification and reconciliation tasks.
  • Archive documents.
  • Provide administrative support to Operations team in a professional and responsible manner.
  • Work flexible shifts depending on needs and assignments.
  • Complies with all industry, food and personal safety standards at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • 3 years administrative experience and a related degree/diploma, or an acceptable variation.
  • Able to perform in an office environment, is a team-player.
  • Work independently with limited supervision and within a team environment.
  • Must be organized, able to set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and database entry/management.
  • Experience in pork production not necessary, but is an asset.
  • Experience working with Kronos is not necessary, but is an asset.
  • Has initiative and is results-oriented with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional customer service and ability to maintain confidentiality.
