Brandon Card Making Class

Come join us for a fun and creative evening out with some great ladies!  We will be making 4 cards with various sentiments, using Stampin’ UP product.  This is a great class for beginners but all area welcome to attend!

Date:  Tuesday, January 12th

Time:  7-9pm

Cost:  $10 for 4 cards and envelopes

RSVP by Jan. 9th to save your spot.  All kits are pre-cut and ready to stamp and assemble.

We offer a free skate rental also have a open canteen and heated clubhouse

Our hours are Monday-Thursday  7pm-9pm

Friday and Saterday 1-5 and 7pm- 10pm

Sunday 1-5 and 7pm-9pm

We are 2 hockey areas this year. The large one for the older, more experienced skaters and a smaller one for the smaller ones and less experienced players.

We also have a third rink for skaters just to skate ( no hockey sticks allowed here)

2016 Journey For Sight

The Journey For Sight is an annual snowmobile fundraising event for the Lions Eye Bank of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario that takes place during the third week in January.This year it is from January 11th - 16th.

There are several legs that tour from different areas of Manitoba collecting pledges and some that meet up in Brandon at the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum on Saturday.

Some of the riders travel about 700 kilometres during the week when they start the northern leg in Thompson, Manitoba and head south to Brandon.

Winter Cheer: A Musical Fundraiser for Care Homes

Choirs under the direction of Elizabeth Grant and Corey Francis will be joining forces with an number of Brandon University Students and community musicians for a wonderful evening of music! 

100% of proceeds will be spent providing weekly therapeutic concerts to Hillcrest Place, Dinsdale, Valleyview Care Centre, Rideau Park and Fair View Home. $25.00 provides one hour of music for a care home.

Fundraising goal for 2016-2017:
5 care homes x 1 hour performance/week x 4 weeks/month x 12 months x $25/hour = $6,000. 

*Donations of $50 or more will be given a tax-deductible receipt at the event (through Artists in Healthcare, MB), and donations under this amount will be receipted with a normal receipt. 

**We hope to receive another $3,600 grant from the City of Brandon Grants for this coming year, and we hope to receive $600 again from Brandon University's School of Music. Neither of these are confirmed, but regardless... our fundraising goal for the evening is $1,800.00, so please invite all of your friends and family and come support a worthy cause!

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study of the Middle Ages & the Renaissance, Over 50,000 participants worldwide recreate many different aspects of the years between 600 & 1600 AD. They research the eras in which they are interested, wear the clothing of that time and actually do the activities, crafts, arts & sciences practiced in the Middle Ages & Renaissance.
