Boissevain Touch-A-Truck

Boissevain’s early learning childcare centre, Tiny Turtle Playroom, is hosting its 2nd annual "Touch-a-Truck" fundraiser. This event is an interactive, outdoor, family-friendly experience allowing all ages to "touch", explore and discover the vehicles and working trucks in our community and surrounding area. Bigger and better than the first, this year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 9 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, at the Turtle Mountain Ag Society Fairgrounds in Boissevain. The first hour will be "horn free" for those who are sensitive to loud noises.

Every child gets excited to see a fire truck, tractor or garbage truck come rumbling down the street. This is the excitement we hope to build on at this event. Instead of just waving at the operator as they drive past, attendees will get the chance to sit in the driver seat and imagine what it feels like to drive the big cement truck or fly around the track in a race car. There will be a food booth with hamburgers and hot dogs for purchase, as well as additional free fun activities for the children onsite. Gate admission is $7 per person, infants 12 months and younger are free.

You can find us on Facebook at "Touch-a-Truck Boissevain" we will continually be adding our exhibitors and their vehicles as they are confirmed.

Confirmed exhibitors to date: Lightning McQueen & Tow Mater

Fire trucks, mobile tire service van, race cars, garbage truck, grader, tow truck, limo and much more!

Rock the Hangar STARS Social

Come out and "Rock the Hangar" to keep the STARS Air Ambulance saving lives in Manitoba.

Live Music by Misty Street & Aaron Check with the help of Look Music, Supper by Joe Beeverz Bar & Grill, Live Auction, STARS helicopter and more!

Get your Rock the Hangar STARS Social tickets in Brandon at Royal LePage Martin Liberty Realty LTD Brian Baker, Brandon Flight Centre, Best Western Plus or Forbidden Flavours on 18th, in Portage la Prairie at Mil Jeanne Flowers & Axcenz, in Winnipeg at STARS Lori Derksen or online through Eventbrite.

In the 2016/17 fiscal year, STARS flew 619 missions all over Manitoba. To keep their helicopters flying, a group of 8 business leaders from Manitoba, including myself, are being flown by helicopter ou...t onto an island. Only after I have accomplished this fundraising goal will I be returned to civilization. Most importantly, STARS is a great cause that has saved the lives of so many and relies on public support to fund half of its operations.

To reach my fundraising goal and to raise awareness in Brandon and the surrounding communities, I have decided to throw a fundraising event called “Rock the Hangar”. The event will take place at the Brandon Flight Centre on Saturday, September 9th.

For more information about me and my mission or to pledge to me in advance, please visit my personal page at:
