Phone upgrade

Contract done. Looking to upgrade my phone. Currently iPhone 6. I would like your input as to what to get next. Apple or Samsung??

Why limit yourself to just those two brands? Personally, I like the Google Pixel.

Another vote for the Pixel here. Samsung makes solid phones, but their operating system is a crappy customized version of Android, which lags behind the most recent updates. Get a Pixel, and you'll get stock Android (the best Android), and be on the latest version of Android until support runs out in a couple of years.

I would personally avoid those two.

The pixel is amazing so far, we are thrilled with ours. We got a pixel and an xl.....hubby wanted the extra battery life with the xl. It takes beautiful pictures and seems to run seamlessly with everything else we need.

Pixel.

Highest rated camera ever, uses Android and google interface. Without a doubt, the best of the best.

Agreed

I have the Nexus 6p, which is the android Google phone before the new pixel. Love it!! It's just over a year old and also a stock android phone without bloatware.

Same boat here but as long as my 6+ holds together I'll probably stick it out through the summer and see what they do with the next iPhone. Thinking seems to be that with it being the 10th anniversary of the phone that they'll do a little more than the typical upgrade

A factor one has to consider in being that patient is the Bell acquisition of MTS (even if neither is your provider). If it does get approval in the next few months, my gut tells me it might not be the worst thing in the world to be locked into plans as they are right now... but for me at least its worth the risk.

Pixel is great but the Samsung S7 has higher resolution and wireless charging. It charges very fast and convenient. Pixel has no wireless charge.
The "bloatware" that comes with Samsung phones is nothing. In fact, I find them useful. Battery life is great on the S7. Best of luck.

The lack of wireless charging on the Pixel is a bummer if you've gotten used to it (I was sad to give it up when I switched from my Nexus), but quick charging is a decent alternative.

The bloatware is a personal preference. Those who started out on Samsung probably don't mind, but after using stock Android for years, it's just a painful kludge in my eyes.

The resolution thing really doesn't matter at all. If it did, Apple's so called "Retina" screens wouldn't be the have one of the lowest pixel densities on the market. A lower resolution means better battery life, and as long as it's not too low (like on the really cheap android phones), you'll never notice it.

Samsung makes EXCELLENT hardware - if OP goes that route, they likely won't be disappointed. I just don't like their software.

Personally

I went from an Iphone 6 to the Samsung S7. I've always been an Iphone user and never thought I'd make the switch.
I am really liking the Samsung so far, it works for everything I do at work and at home. It did take some time to get used to.
