:)

i find in the discussions here i get a lot of chat, i find it decent enough, wide variety of opinions and about local events ect. I dont get as much much of a chance to yapp as i used to but you will see the same names pop up and get a feel for their online persona

ebrandon did have a singles thread for a bit and i believe a few meet ups you could try using the search bar at the top right and see if you can connect with them, good luck

Welcome to Brandon Single Retired Guy!!!

EBrandon is a great place to start discussions on topics near and dear to your heart or just for discussing more casual topics. Brandon is a hard place to meet people so suggest you look into volunteering as a way to pass the extra time. As already mentioned the singles group is a good way to meet more people.

Would love to hear why you chose to move to Brandon, Manitoba? What are some of your interests? That might help you connect to the people who can get you doing the things you want.

Moved to Brandon because this is the place I like to call home. I was here years ago, graduated form Brandon University with 2 degrees, left for about 27 years. I left here single and returning single. I really did not have much time on going out as I was working crazy shift in Ft. Mc.. When the Dr. told me hang up my tool belt, I knew I was coming back to Brandon.

Been here for about a month now. Volunteered at a couple of places and found it cold. Went to a dance and found that I was too "old" for the crowd. Heard a few comments behind my back and felt uncomfortable-who is the Indian?? I have 2 degrees, worked in the professional field for about 20 years, and went to the construction field and worked in Ft Mc. for about 20 years as a journeyman scaffolder. So, my topics are limited. Yes, being 66 and single is not cool.

Here I am again-come to our dances! The Forever Young Club has dances once a month and we are all in your age group. The music is classic rock from the 50's 60's and 70's. It's a great way to socialize and meet people. Everyone is welcome single or couples. Our next dance is Nov 9. Watch the events section on eBrandon for more info.

Well, was going to start a new discussion session, but changed my mind. I am a single senior(66) first nations male. I am retired from scaffolding, presently looking for a part time job to supplement my pension. I don't have much, really can't afford to go places, but still able to get out a couple of times. I really miss female companionship, coffee which I can afford, and talking about anything at all. I have 2 degrees, a b.ed and bgs from Brandon university. In see a couple of people responded before, but I was unaware and did not know how to maneuver this site. Think I got the hang of it. I have been sober and straight for 35 plus years and counting. I do not smoke, but there was a time I did. I enjoy quiet times, going for drives when I can afford it, and I love to tease and laugh. There was a time I enjoyed dances, but the knees can no longer move like they once did. hope my info is of interest to you and if it is, drop me a line, just like fishing. Cheers
