Is selling on Ebay a hassle ? would like to hear thoughts. comments . thanks

Well you place an item up for sale. Depending on your starting price you will pay a listing fee. If you make it a reserved price auction your fee will be a little higher. You pick a duration on how long you want the auction to run for. You then wait for your item to sell and once it does your buyer pays you by PayPal. More fees depending on how much it sells for. Then you box up your item and take it to the post office and mail it off.  
 
Up to you to decide if that is a hassle or not.

I've been a buyer and a seller on Ebay. I will say it's easier being a buyer than a seller. There are some people/companies on ebay that do nothing but sell and ship products, so there is a LOT of pressure to get everything processed and shipped within 1-2 days. Also, most people go on ebay to look for inexpensive items, so if you're looking to recover your money, you won't be able to attract buyers once you tack the shipping costs on. Specialty items, vintage items, collectors items, all sell really well.

I've been selling all sorts of junk from around my house(extra stuff), and have not had any bad experiences. sometimes it takes many weeks to sell something, other times it sells the next day. The odd thing didn't sell at all, oh well!  
 
Only certain high-ticket items actually cost anything to list for sale.  
 
I tend to put "free shipping", and just budget into the price a typical amount that it would cost using canada post's estimator to some far-away place in usa where it might go. Buyers really like "free shipping" items.  
 
Don't forget" both Ebay and Paypal will take a cut of the sales, you'll need to budget for those as well.

What percentage of your asking/listing price do you budget for Ebay and PayPal fees? Just wondering.

generally I budget 10 percent to each, but it can be less depending on if it's a certain category of item. They have the fees listed on their websites.  
 
I didn't mention before, I usually shop around for similar items before deciding on a selling price just to make sure that people have a reason to buy my stuff, and that I'm not "giving it away" needlessly.  
Sometimes that research turns-out to yield information such as it's not worth to sell certain items, or I have to expect that it might take a really long time to sell (good 'til sold) at barely any margin.
