Gas price jumps 20 cents...

...and no ones losing their minds?

Where's the usual outrage when it jumps 5 cents?

Is everyone resigned to live under the thumb of big oil and government?

Hurricane!

Gas prices always jump when there is a natural disaster. Not sure if there are refineries or platforms in that area or not but it is just an opportunity for the oil companies to raise prices. Supply and demand!

Gas prices!

Used to be that every gas station in the city charged the same price for gas but has anyone else noticed how this summer you can see up to 3 or 4 different prices at the same time at the various stations around town? No consistency at all this summer! And up and down like a yo-yo too

Gas prices.

Was in Wpg yesterday and before we left , I checked gas buddy Wpg for prices. They varied from 109.9 to 118.9 across the city. We filled up before leaving and paid 114.9. When we got to Wpg all we saw was 125.9. Fortunately on the way back out Portage Ave. not far from Polo Park we found an Esso station with a gas price of 110.9. Haven't a clue why that one was low, but there wasn't even a line up for gas. I guess it was just luck that we found that one.

It was going down

then just before payday, rockets up. Guessing the companies are using the hurricane as an excuse.

Co-op

Really strange - Here in Minnedosa, it's up today to 125.9. But when it was lowered the past few weeks in Brandon, it stayed at 116.9. They used to charge the same at both locations. Now we only get the increases.
Ticks me off, but I guess their gouging us is a beef that should be taken up with the Board of Directors.
Just venting.....

Gas

On way into Winnipeg, noted gas at JJs was 114.9.
On way home in need of gas I pulled up to a Portage station to top up, noted the 124.9 and figured I’d have the last laugh and keep going to JJs. Of course there by the time I pulled up it was 125.9. Jokes on me

Trans Canada Husky

Coming to work today, (2pm) noticed the Husky had gas still at 105 and shock.....across the highway, other gas stations were at 125. Pulled a U-turn in Smitty's parking lot and sped to Husky to top up the gas tank!

I don't get how prices can jump 20 cents! I agree with other posters though. When a hurricane happens, gas prices go way up. Has anyone tracked hurricane/gas prices to prove this is true?

how we get our oil from our own country and nowhere near the hurricanes. Our refineries that we have in Saskatchewan and Alberta are nowhere near the hurricane. No one here is panic buying fuel to escape a hurricane. Yet our gas prices get jacked up because of it?

I went by the Husky on 1st this morning and it was 102, I thought great, I need to get fuel tomorrow. An hour later I had to do a double look when it was at 122, then not long after 125. I thought WTF!!!!

If anyone sees it drop let me know, need to fill the tank! Nearly fell over when I saw that loveley increase. That should be illegal.

Saved 12 bucks just filling up yesterday morning before the increase rather than waiting til after work.

Here's

a good little read, which makes it very simple as to why our prices jump so high.
https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/if-canada-has-so-much-oil-why-is-our-gasoline-so-expensive
If the link doesn't work, just google search it. It explains things very in-depth, but also uses different examples to make it simple to understand.

On more thing

A jump of 20 cents/litre is like a 90 cent/gallon increase!
