Cinnamon Buns

Where is the best place in Brandon to buy cinnamon/sticky buns? Preferably the big ones!
Sobeys aren't cutting it and I don't feel like making my own!

The best in town, but I have heard the one attached to Obenmeirs is good also.

Cinnamon buns

Been a few months, but out of what’s avail I’ve preferred Safeway if you get them on the day they’re made. Hope someone knows of a place I haven’t tried yet but with all due respect to anyone I’ve tried, lots of “good” but still hoping for somebody to take a swing at “great.” Gooey, soft, tons of cream cheese and creative toppings would be my ideal personally... sorta in a way to like what Joe Beeverz has done with Poutines.

This place is in a smaller town in BC, but show me a smorgasbord of cinnamon bun varieties like this locally and I’ll show you a me with 50 more pounds within a month :)

Morden MB

Adam, I think you’d love The Olive Tree in Morden, MB! The owner makes the most amazing cinnamon buns and he’s so creative on different types and toppings! It’s a small business so you don’t get everything on the same day but I watch their Facebook/Instagram pages when I’m in the area to see what they’ve got! I strongly recommend anyone in the area try them out! It’s also a children/baby store too!

blue hills

The Blue Hills bakery used to have AMAZING cinnamon buns, but it's been a couple of years since I've had one. But I'm assuming they're still fabulous. I liked them better than Kuipers.

White House bakery has been our favourite in mb so far. But that cinnamon bun trail brochure looks like it will be a good way to explore the rest of Manitoba!

Other half says Safeway are the best because he likes cream cheese on them.

I don’t really like cinnamon buns but I do enjoy kuipers cinnamon twists, not the buns.

Cinnamon Bun Trail

Thanks so much for the brochure ideas! I plan on trying out a few!!

The best cinnamon buns used to come from The Boardwalk in Clear Lake. I don't know where they got them a few years ago, but was told it was a lady in or near Dauphin. I've never had one soooo good. I am not sure the details, but a few years ago The Boardwalk stopped selling them. What I would give to find the maker of those delicious buns!

Has the most amazing cinnamon buns (personal experience!). Their peanut butter ones are to die for.....
If you get a chance to visit the island, definitely a must try!

I was in Ladysmith a couple of weeks ago and stopped in to the Old Town Bakery. Best Cinnamon buns ever by far. We need something like that here.

Is the best. If you order 2 dozen they will make them with raisins.

Hamiota

Country Crocus Bakeshop in Hamiota has the best cinnamon buns, hands down. They also make wonderful bread and doughnuts. I always have to stop when I'm out there.

Thx for the tip. Had to stop scrolling their page, they seem to have a way of posting pics that bring out a loud growl in the stomach! Maybe worth making a day trip out of these guys plus Fossil Centre. Couple other day trip ideas out of this thread, maybe surrounding towns are the next step in the search!

Olive Tree

We took a drive to Morden today to try the food at the Olive Tree and it is closed until the Corn & Apple festival. The store with things for sale is open, just the food part is closed. We did go to Legends bakery and the cinnamon buns there was pretty good.

Believe it or not, the cafeteria in the basement of BRHC has amazing cinnamon buns and cheese buns! They sell them only during the week after 9am until their gone.

Just to clarify re these guys...
I touched base to clarify hours (it didn't seem right to read that they'd be outright closed for that long). Turns out that between May Long and the Corn/Apple festival they are open weekdays but close on weekends in lieu of family time. From what I gather the buns sell out pretty quickly and so wouldn't drive out too late on a whim without a plan B!

Gotta say, Sobeys’ Apple Cinnamon bun... not half bad. Give me some pecans and there might be the foundation for a relationship
