Bins

Is it recycling bins? If so, are all houses getting them? I haven’t heard this happening yet.

from what i gather

this will be to put in your home and filled with recyclables and taken out to the large blue bin. I'd like one as I use a bag in the house.

Oohh

Yah I remember seeing them delivering those. Don’t live far from Green Acres area but haven’t received anything...but also didn’t request one if we needed to.

I believe their only giving out 16,000 bins. Not sure how many will get and how many won't

I did not request one. I already have a similar one inside. I was surprised to see it on my doorstep.

Same as happy hour...green acres, didn’t request one, surprised to see it on the deck when we returned from the lake so they must have delivered them on the weekend?

It’s smaller than the square one we have already but works for our downstairs recycling! Thanks City

It's not the city distributing, but the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association, which is industry-funded. You know, those "recycle everywhere" people.

Wait before giving yours away

Maybe out of courtesy before some households gets 2 or more please think of those households that do not receive them.

Oh ok, thanks abbysmum! I just assumed the city but that makes more sense lol

For those worried about not getting one, asking others for theirs or those who are using bags etc....why not just buy a plastic container from Walmart or even dollarama to use in the house?? That’s what we did for downstairs until we got this one. In fact, I think I prefer our old “no name” recycling bin lol

I posted a pic of the bin.

The one on the right is the freebie that was delivered to my doorstep. The one on the left is the one I bought at Dollarama years ago.

If you don't get one they really are nothing that you are missing out on.

My concern is this...What have you been using till now? Were you not recycling up to this point?

email from company putting out boxes

Good morning,

All single-family dwellings in the City of Brandon are already scheduled to receive the bins. The teams delivering the bins should be completed by mid-September so you should have your bin by then.

That was nice of the company giving these free promo bins away to respond to you.

. . .

I''m downtown in an area with many multi-dwelling apartments, but the bins have showed up here. But only a single one to each place. I like the effort, but with 2 or 3 apartments per house, it seems a bit pointless.
