Drivers Not Clearing Snow Off Their Vehicles

I am frustrated with the number of Lazy Drivers who neglect to remove snow off their rear windows and others who don’t scrape their windows thus impairing their vision and putting us all at risk who use the roads. Come on Brandon. How hard can it be to scrape your windows and remove the snow????? I

today

Going down 6th street this morning about 9:00.

Stopped at the crosswalk for a little boy (very little) and the car behind me passed me.

Her windows were all fogged up on the inside and she had a wee little hole to see out of.

I was in shock, instead of getting her license plate.

And this kind of driving, the windows all fogged up and a wee hole to see out of is more dangerous than a vehicle driving 50k.

I would like to see these kind of drivers get hit with a fine.

Hmmm.......

If I had the option to have a heated roof tied in with the rear window/mirror defrost I would definitely pay for that. Honestly that should be a standard Canadian vehicle feature.

.

Seen a taxi cab yesterday with front window fogged right up. He was going into the sun so couldn’t see and was going so slow since there was a stop sign ahead of him.
I kid you not, he literally pulled an Ace Ventura and stuck his head out the side window to see.

they can get fined

It’s considered an unsafe load if there’s enough of it and if it ends up falling on someone or something during their drive

Driving without clearing windows

This morning, I was passed by a vehicle doing well above the speed limit (on the 1A). As it passed, I could see that the windows were frosted over, and once past I could see that, even though the rear window was clear, the driver was looking through only a partially clear windshield. Terrified of being late for work?

If that was a ML employee, they could miss out on about $200 by being 1 min late if they were already late a first time within a 4 week period. Unless the highways have been officially closed, their employees are expected to be at work, whatever the weather conditions.

almost side swiped

I was driving down first after the first big snow fall and was driving beside a guy in a smaller car with snow all over his car and he wasn’t able to see me right beside him and almost side swiped me. I had to honk and move over or he would’ve hit me and my girl! I don’t have a snow remover brush yet and I still managed to clear my windows! It’s not hard and may take a little effort but it isn’t that hard, especially snow that can be removed with a sleeve!

What's the excuse then? Should they not be more prepared and leave a few minutes earlier and scrape their windshield? Safer for everyone.

Windshield

I get that they don't want to be late for work etc but does that give them the right to risk my life. Get your butt out of bed and make sure the windows are clean. I assume you have a little bit of responsibility if you are driving.
A while ago I was driving west on Park Ave. A car coming in the other direction did not have their windshield cleared and I actually had to pull over to the parking lane because they were driving down the wrong side of the road. Like others I was too busy trying to save myself to get a licence plate.
I don't really care about what you do with your life but if you start threatening the rest of us with laziness or whatever your reason is...then it is a problem. PLEASE clear your windows before getting on any roadways.

Add this to the list

I could care less about this kind of thing...it's way down there on my list of things I wish the police would crack down on as far as driving offenses. For example...

Donkeys making right hand turns onto streets without looking and then driving at their own pace while you slam on the brakes is far more dangerous over the long term than people that don't get up 30 minutes early to clear their car of snow from boot to bonnet.

Idiots on the 10 south and north driving 60kms, everyday

Idiots sitting in the middle of the intersection at Queens and 18th/Brandon ave and 18th after the light turns red because they can't wait another 3 minutes

people parked in fire lanes at Walmart, Home Depot, Shoppers Drug mart, the mall, Sobeys, Canadian Tire, Staples, Future Shop EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY

and on and on are far more likely to result in a far greater number of accidents over the course of a year. And I agree ticket the donkeys not clearing snow off their vehicle but go after them on eBrandon and via the police with the same vigor as you'd go after the other people I just listed.
