.

I heard that there was a place setting up beside easy home on 18th. I thought Bob's also was part of the ones approved to sell could be wrong.

Puff puff pass

I''m sure everyone will know where they are - either to avoid them or to frequent them. I reserve my decision to frequent or avoid until I see prices and sample quality.

I think I noticed one beside Easy Home - 18th and Queens. From what I understand BOB Headquarters will be a retailer (one of my sons works in their warehouse), I read somehwere there will be another at about 28th and Victoria (???) and from news reports, Shoppers Drugs will aslo be a retailer.

Cannabis sales

Hmmmm.... wondering what the benefits might be of smoking cannabis if you are iinhaling smoke just like a cigarette, what good will this do for your lungs? I can see maybe the edible version being a better way to get the drug into your system but I guess for those who want pot it won’t matter how they get it.

B.O.B. is not...

.....going to be distributing from their current location. They have partnered with Tokyo Smoke and
the dispensary will be a few doors North.

There is apparently another location in by Freshii. Currently under construction.

Could not confirm what was going in by the Bulk Barn.

The folks at Shoppers say that they have no idea yet if they will be “dealing”

One person I spoke to has indicated the edibles will be unavailable for “at least a year” and it could be quite a while before there is actually any product available for retail in Brandon.

Might just have to take a road trip

Edibles

I believe edibles will be 'unavailable' because they aren't going to be legal for the first year.

Having said that, there are safe ways to make your own edibles at home. Just do some research and follow directions so that you don't end up with something stronger than you can handle. I'm certain that the people working in dispensaries and even at B.O.B or Growers N Smokers would have tons of advice on the subject!

I could be wrong but

I could be wrong, but I think that all the hype is larger than the response will be. I believe anyone that is going to be smoking etc already is in the first place. I think the number of people being new to try it will
be a small percentage. This stuff has been around for ages.

I will avoid

Government butchered it. Right from monopolization to all the tried and true strains. They went and got a bunch of seeds from who knows where and are going to peddle it off as %100 legal. Enjoy the bunk stuff the real ganja will be underground where’s it’s been for the past 70years.

My guess too

I'm wondering how good the government stuff will be. Anyone can grow a Marajuanna plant but guys that really know the business know how to get the most potential out of the plants.

i think the government

will be using licenced producers which will not have bunk stuff. people will likley use the same people they use now but alot of people i think will be happy for a choice like alcohol u will probably have a really good stuff along with not as strong strains which will probably be cheaper. I think its stupid that you can not grow your own at home like other provinces doesnt really makes sense to me

The stuff you get from Dwayne at the trailer court will be way better than Canopy or Tokyo smoke will be selling. HAHAHA

Safer too, just like the good gin that comes from being made in the bathtub

In the news this morning

Liquor, Gaming, Cannabis Authority (LCGAmb.ca) saying no stores in Brandon have been inspected yet for compliance and as a result will not be able to dispense yet.

They say they will list stores that are open on their website. News story is available at www.qcountryfm.ca

legal vs illegal strains

I would say as a medical user that the difference in strain strength is very minute almost better the legal way as you know exactly what your going to get (usually) some medicinal retailers are crappy but those ones usually loos customers quick or get writes up by the FDA because it is a medicine. So here’s to hoping that the quality will be the name. Sucks we will have to travel to winnipeg where they already have shops set up and dispensing

I'm not sure when the stores will be ready, but they certainly don't look to be ready by Wednesday. But I would expect sometime in late October.

It is ridiculous that the provincial government won't let us grow our own, legally. They keep Manitoba broke & won't let us grow our own smoke.

Dispensaries

I wonder what this government stuff will be like. I don't smoke but do know there is a difference with stuff from growers that really know how to grow it. Wonder how up to par these government approved growers will be. If it's garbage, people will just source from where they have been. Probably will anyway.

Soooo

There won't be long lineups or overnight campouts so people can say "yes, back in 2018 on Oct 17 I was one of the first legal buyers...a real pioneer " This will be very interesting.

Not here

There are, as of 6:30pm Tuesday night, NO approved stores set to open in Brandon. Winnipeg has some, Dauphin has one and that's it.

Don't plan on buying any weed in Wheat City tomorrow.

Disappointed

Well this is VERY disappointing. I was looking forward to going in and checking out a dispensary myself. But of courseb nobody could get their act together in time. Though I'm sure they tried, and had a million and one hoops to jump through. I totally wanted to be that pioneer that went, bought and supported what i had voted to be done in the first place. I guess we just get to sit around and wait for it to open.
But how will they let us know they got the stamp of approval to open shop?
Smoke signals?? :p

transporting?

So the law states only to buy it from a licensed distributor, but than will fine you for transportation in your car? So how are you supposed to get it from the point of sale to your house?

Manitobans aged 19 and up can possess up to 30 grams of non-medical cannabis in public.

......

And just what I figured for pricing. I have a feeling that many will purchase from the store to get the packaging it comes in so it can be transported. Then still order off line. At $9.25 in Alberta to $12 in Manitoba there will still be the online market when one can purchase for $3.50 and up. Regular smokers are not going to want to buy like at the bar for dime baggies. Regulars will be buying quarters/halves/ounces, not grams.

National Anthem

If Justin Trudeau had his way, he would like to change the national anthem to O’CANNIBIS.

Not a good idea.

Oh Oh! Canada
Oh No! Canada

Justin another tax grab.
