inexpensive eggs?

Back in the mid-late 90’s, I remember being able to purchase smaller than normal chicken eggs $5 for 24 (or something like that).
I can’t remember where they came from.
Does anyone know what I’m talking about? Know if you can still buy them like this and where? (Contact info would be great)
Thanks in advance

Sobeys

I purchase the flats at Sobeys, $6.99 for 30 eggs. They are normal size eggs thought, not smaller eggs

You are most likely thinking of "pee wee" eggs. They were often sold in flats. I am not sure where people bought them.

They're commonly called pullet eggs and are from new/young layers.

thanks

Thanks everyone.
I think I remember buying them from a farmer who would bring them in when he attended church.
I was searching mostly out of curiosity.

I am aware what they are from...I have many chickens.

In the 80s, those same sized tiny eggs from new pullets were labeled, marketed and sold as "pee wee" eggs.

pee wee eggs

years ago we bought flats of pee wee eggs from a place on park street east south side of the road. I highly doubt they are still there.

My apologies Flutterby, I quoted you not because I was trying to correct you or anything, just adding for them since that's commonly what the flats are sold as :-D
