Your best bet is to

contact each clinic first to find out who is currently taking new patients. Unfortunately there often aren't a whole lot available to choose from so your efforts might be better spent looking for input that pertains specifically to the ones that are currently accepting. It's just very frustrating when you have a list compiled of highly recommended Doctors only to find that none of them can take you on. Best of luck!

Wheat City Medical Clinic

By the Corral Centre has the best doctors in town, IMO. They actually take the time to ask more questions, get your history, and figure out what's actually wrong, unlike most doctors who basically ask a couple questions and write a prescription for what MIGHT be wrong.

And I know they were just taking new patients recently. I'd definitely try them first.

What you will have to do...

is call each clinic to see who is taking patients. Not too many doctors are right now. Then narrow it down from there.

good luck.

One number

Actually, just call the MB health number, there'll list of Drs taking new patients near your postal code, one call and you get the answer you are looking for.

I tried that number...

...and all they told me was that they could give me the phone numbers of the medical clinics in Brandon. They don't actually have a list of available doctors. So I'm not sure what the point of that central 1-800 number is!

Dr. Large

at the the Westman Medical clinic is accepting new patients.

He is very thorough but he won't go easy on you if your not looking after your own health. I consider that a good thing.

docs

There are doctors (both male and female) at Wheat City Medical (by the Corral Center) taking new clients. Also Dr Nasr (female) and Dr Mikhail (male) at Trinity. Dr Large (male) and Dr Beshay (male) at Western Medical sometimes take new clients, but nobody else at Western is taking new clients right now.

Be very careful

If you are asking at the clinics about Dr's taking new patients. Be sure to ask how long they have been in Brandon. Sometimes they are still taking new patients because of problems that people have had with them.
Phone the Corral centre the Dr's are great.

Be careful

Just a word of advice, I am no doctor but do know there are a couple here in Brandon that I shake my head and wonder how they got their licence... 2 of which were listed.
I quit using Brandon Clinic West and Westren Medical because of the few we did see. It got to the point that since Brandon Clinic West would not release who was on walk in I would go there and see first, since there were some I just wouldn't waste my time going too.
Now I don't even use either of those walk ins anymore.
Although I heard negative things about Newmount Medical Clinic I decided I was going to try it out for myself and so glad I did. I have been going their for a few years now and I find Newmount Medical Clinic way better. There are 2 front desk girls who are absolutely wonderful and both Dr Benning, and Dr Glenn are awesome all the time. They also have a Chiropractor (Dr. Lavigne) their too who is wonderful too, and a female acupuncturist I believe... they really are a wonderful group! I do have my regular family Dr at the Brandon Clinic, but since she is hardly on walk in and they won’t release that information I needed someone I could trust and I find that in Newmount Medical Clinic.
Be careful who you choose and word of mouth and gut feelings are usually the way to go
Good luck in your search!
