80 years ago. Friday, March 19, 1937: Cordova, the play “An Old Fashioned Mother” was successfully staged last Friday evening to a large and attentive audience. Miss Marjorie Robertson gave a recitation “The Ladies Aid” and community singing helped to fill in between acts. The players played their parts well and brought great laughter and also tears from the audience.

70 years ago. Thursday, March 27, 1947: Neepawa Bantam B.B. Squad buried Carman under 13 goals at the arena last Thursday night to take the round 17 to 4 and win the provincial title. In the first game at Carman Tuesday night, the boys were a little off colour and played to a three all tie. However, in the second encounter, the boys worked as a machine and had no trouble in turning their adversaries back. The Carman aggregation proved to be a heady crew that lacked the final finish around the net in passing play. The large score by Neepawa should cast no reflection upon the abilities of Billy Anderson in the visitors' net. This boy controlled the entire ice behind the Carman blue line when his defense was left at the mercy of Neepawa's attack. Mention should also be made to the fact that Anderson was sick at his stomach before taking to the ice, due to the long ride here, and was compelled to leave the game for a few minutes due to an injury to his face. It is the opinion of hockey fans that the Carman crew would be dangerous with proper training as they show a great deal of hockey talent.

40 years ago. Thursday, March 24, 1977: At a meeting held on March 17 in the United Church lower hall to organize a volunteer telephone service, Tom Delgaty was named coordinator; Mrs. M. Sandercock, vice-coordinator; Mrs. Velda Bradley, secretary treasurer; Mrs. E. Pollock, reporter. This program is for elderly and disabled citizens who are living alone and are rather isolated from friends and relatives. It will provide a daily telephone call to check on them and assure them of help in case of emergency.

30 years ago. Thursday, March 26, 1987: If there is one indication the Neepawa and District Drop In Centre will succeed, it was provided during the official opening last Thursday afternoon. For the official opening, over 200, people, representing in majority the senior sector, filed into the new facility adjacent to Yellowhead Manor. By the time the crowd settled down, every seat that was set out before the podium was occupied and other people lined the walls and entrance ways seeking a view of the proceedings.
