Brandon Wheat Kings forward Nolan Patrick won the Sherwin-Williams Top Prospect Award at the CHL Awards on Saturday.
He beat out Halifax’s Nico Hischier and Windsor’s Gabriel Valardi to win the award.
Patrick is ranked as the number one prospect for this year’s NHL Entry Draft which will be held in Chicago.
In his third WHL season, he played in just 33 games but scored 20 goals and 26 assists for 46 points.
He is the first WHL player to win the award since Portland Winterhawks defensemen Seth Jones won it back in 2013.
The first overall this year has been awarded to the New Jersey Devils.
The draft is scheduled for June 23rd to 24th.
