Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – A number of former MJHL’ers will get a chance to strut their stuff at the NHL level in the coming weeks.
Brandonite and former Virden Oil Capital Zach Whitecloud will attend Las Angeles Kings development camp this week. He will be joined by OCN Blizzard defensman Brady Keeper.
In addition, Former Portage Terrier Dean Stewart heads to Arizona for Coyotes camp. He was drafted by the Coyotes in the 7th round of last year’s Entry Draft.
Whitecloud, a former AAA Midget Wheat King spent last season with Bemidji University and was named to the NCAA All-Rookie Team.
Meanwhile, Keeper a native of Cross Lake, MB was named the MJHL’s MVP and Top Defenseman last season.
He is committed to play for the Maine University Black Bears next season.
Former Steinbach Piston Cole Smith will also head to development camp with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
