Moose Jaw, SK (CKLQ) – Special teams was key on Sunday night as the Moose Jaw Warriors knocked off the Brandon Wheat Kings 6-2 at Mosiac Place.
The Warriors scored three times on the powerplay while adding a shorthanded marker on route to their third straight victory over the Wheat Kings.
Jayden Halbgewachs lead the way for Moose Jaw with two goals and two assists while Brayden Burke (1G-2A) and Justin Almeida (3) chipped in with three points each.
Swan River’s Tristan Langan also had a big night for the Warriors adding his 7th and 8th goals of the season.
Stelio Mattheos and Evan Weinger scored the lone goals for Brandon who once again failed to convert on the powerplay, tonight on five opportunities.
Brandon will hit the road again on Wednesday when they head to Regina to take on the Pats. After that, the Wheat Kings set up shop for a five game home stand.
