Bobcats basketball teams lose to Huskies

Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – In front of more than 1,000 school kids from around Westman, the Saskatchewan Huskies came in and ruined the party.
The Huskies defeated both Bobcats basketball teams in the first of a two-game weekend series.
In the women’s game, The Huskies defeated the Bobcats 91-76.
Sabine Dukate had 20 points for the Huskies and added four assists while Summer Masikewich and Libby Epoch both poured in 18. Megan Lindquist added 10 points while Megan Ahlstrom finished just shy of a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.
The Bobcats were led by Keisha Cox’s team-high 20 points while Adianna Proulx added 14 points off the bench in her first game of the second half of the season.
Friday’s loss drops Brandon’s record to 2-15 on the season.
In the men’s game, it was a back and forth affair, but Saskatchewan ended up on top with a 81-79 win.
The Huskies JT Robinson recorded the go-ahead layup with 11 seconds to go and Bobcats Tyvon Cooper could not convert on BU’s final possession after turning the ball over.
The Bobcats and Huskies both have records of 8-and-9 going into Saturday’s rematch at 5 p.m. at the Healthy Living Centre.
Saturday is senior night and the Bobcats basketball teams final regular season home game.
