Neepawa, MB (CKLQ) – Brett Namaka scored his second of the game 31 seconds into overtime as the Neepawa Natives got a very important two points as they beat the Portage Terriers 4-3.
Neepawa and Portage went back and forth all night, and the Terriers tied the game at 3 with just over five minutes remaining in the third period.
Namaka also got an assist on the night.
Mackenzie Belinski also chipped in with a goal and two assist, and goaltender Brenden Benoit stopped 38 of 41 shots in the game.
The Natives were heavily outshot 41-28, but were the only team to get shots in overtime.
Neepawa moves into a tie for 8th place in the MJHL with a win, but they have played four more games than the Swan Valley Stampeders.
The Terriers with the point move into sole possession of second place with Virden losing in Steinbach.
