Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – The Westman regional Soccer Association’s season will start a week later than usual.
Due to the amount of snow still covering fields, the WRSA has decided to commence league play the week of May 7, 2018, rather than previously projected April 30th start date.
The decision was made to provide consistency in the region and avoid last minute cancellations and schedule changes due to unsuitable field conditions.
To ensure players still receive optimum time on the field WRSA has added an additional festival weekend for all Community Stream age categories (U10-U17).
The festival will take place the weekend of May 25-27, 2018, with each community hosting an age group.
Each team will be scheduled for 2-3 games over the course of the Festival.
The additional Festival will be provided at no extra cost to players or communities and will be organized by WRSA.
Previously projected nights of play have all been finalized with no changes made.
The full Spring 2018 schedule will be released on Sunday, April 29th, 2018 at this site.
Please know that Mini Soccer programs (U3-U8), remain at the discretion of the local club to determine when the first night of play will be, depending on field conditions in each community.
This information will be posted online here.
