Service for Seniors hosted the noon meal at the Farmer's Market fundraiser lunch in Boissevain last week Friday.

Resource Coordinator for Service for Seniors, Amy Alvis, says the the fund raiser will go to support the numerous activities and services they provide.

"We want to do some more tours and day-dasher trips," says Alvis. "We've been to a concert in Winnipeg, we've been to Senior's Day in Austin, and we've been to Brandon to concerts, and hopefully we can take a van load out to the Peace Gardens, and things like that."

Currently there are 8 members to the staff who carry out the services. Alvis says there is always a call out for more volunteers.

"We need volunteeers to help us in our kitchen, and also do deliver meals with Meals on Wheels. We also serve meals at Jubilee Manor Monday, Wednesday and Friday."

"We also provide rides to appointments for seniors who don't drive."

"We are also involved in the Victoria Lifeline, which is one of the things we really promote," explains Alvis. "It's a service you can have where if you run into trouble in your home you can push your button and then you have responders to come and help you or the EMS will come and help."
