Dauphin, MB (CKLQ) – The Stanley Cup will be in the City of Dauphin on Wednesday.
The former Washington Capitals coach, Barry Trotz, will be returning to his hometown of Dauphin with Lord Stanley’s Cup.
There will be a parade in the community at 12:30 p.m., with pictures with the cup and Trotz at Credit Union Place from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The pictures will cost $2 each.
There will also be a hot dog sale, 50/50 and raffle table available.
All funds will be donated back to the community and Trotz will match proceeds up to $75,000.
Trotz has spent a good portion of his life in the community of Dauphin, playing for the Dauphin Kings in the MJHL, and later coaching the team in 1985.
His parents, and a good part of his family still live in the area.
