Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – No Baghdaddy, no problem for the Brandon Bobcats men’s volleyball team on Friday.
The Bobcats were forced to play without rookie sensation Robin Baghdady after he was ruled out due to injury.
But that proved not to be a problem as they beat the UBC Thunderbirds in straight sets 25-16, 25-13 and 25-20.
Freshman Max Brook took Baghdady’s spot in the starting lineup and contributed three kills in the Bobcats’ win.
Reece Dixon had 30 assists and four service aces, both were match highs for the undefeated Bobcats. BU’s Elliott Viles led all scorers with 12 kills.
With the win, the Bobcats improved to 3-0 on the season.
Meanwhile, the women’s team continued their winless start to the season.
The UBC Thunderbirds swept the Bobcats with a 25-18, 25-23, 25-16 win.
The win moves UBC’s record to 2-3 while Brandon remains winless at 0-3.
