A memorial scheduled to honour a teen originally from Winnipeg who died while waiting for a heart transplant has been moved to a new location.

Jessica Bondar, 19, had been in Montreal waiting for a heart transplant for two years, when she died in April.

A memorial had been slated for May 23 at the HMCS Chippawa in Winnipeg.

The memorial has now been moved to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 45 Dalhousie Drive in Winnipeg.

Family said the memorial is scheduled to be held from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on May 23.

The venue was changed to the church as the barracks are being used to mobilize troops in the flood fight.
