Winnipeg fire crews were called to a working fire just before noon Sunday after reports that two people were trapped inside a single story bungalow.
Nearby residents say the house at 775 Dufferin Avenue is abandoned but fire crews took no chances, blocking traffic from Arlington Street to Dufferin Avenue.
The fire was brought under control. No one was found inside the burning home.
Fire officials weren't immediately available for comment.
