Two-hundred people hit the pavement for Winnipeg's "Walk for Miracles" Sunday, in an effort to raise thousands of dollars for the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

Walkers began the march at St. Vital Park in the early morning, raising support for critical hospital equipment, programs and pediatric research at Winnipeg's Children's Hospital.

The eighth annual Walk for Miracles, sponsored by Wal-Mart, is a nationwide effort aimed at raising funds for children's hospitals across Canada. It was held consecutively in 12 cities from coast-to-coast.

About 13,000 children receive treatment every year at Winnipeg's Children's Hospital.
