Police have arrested a man in connection to a newspaper carrier who was robbed at gunpoint last weekend, as well as at least two other incidents.

Police say the suspect was caught after robbing a small business in the 600 block of McPhillips Street at gunpoint Saturday morning. Police were called and the suspect was arrested in the 800 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Police say the suspect was wanted in connection to a robbery on June 10, during which a 37-year-old man delivering newspapers was approached by an armed suspect who forced the man into his own car and demanded he drive to a nearby business to withdraw money at an ATM. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A 56-year-old man has been detained and faces several charges, including three counts of robbery with a firearm. Officials say the handgun used in the robberies has been seized.
