Wish: Puppy's leg sugery
0 Like(s)

My 1 year old puppy got hit by on December 17th and needs surgery on her leg in order to be able to walk again. Unfortunately I am unable to afford surgery for her as it is between $2000-$2500. Can someone please help me get my puppy the surgery she needs in order to walk again.

Have you tried phoning some of the vet clinics and see if they will let you make payments? So sorry to hear of your puppy's accident.

I don't know much about these things, but would a Go Fund Me page help? You must feel desperate. I hope your pup is not in any pain. How did the accident happen? Good luck.

I made one but so far no donations. This is the link to it:

My dog got out of my yard somehow and someone hit her and drove away. Luckily a lovely couple brought her into their home and she was taken to the vet. She is not in pain but she is not allowed to do much moving around. We used to walk everyday and now she is inside most of the day because she is only allowed out for a pee n little walk in my yard on her leash.

Would amputating the leg be an option? Dogs get around well on three legs, and amputation will undoubtedly be a lot cheaper than $2000-2500. Talk to your vet about it and see if it would be an option.

Surprisingly I was quoted $1500-$2000 for an amputation and $2000-$2500 to fix it with a plate fused to the bone or pin in her leg. With this in mind it's almost the same price to keep a leg rather than take her leg. Either way both surgeries are more than what is affordable for myself. So far I've had 2 donations so things are looking up to have it done.

Would like to help out, but would prefer not to use my computer. Is there another way? If you have decided on a vet clinic, I could donate directly to them or write a cheque to the clinic and mail it to you. Thanks

For anyone contemplating..the individual who posted this is a lovely young lady, a professional within our community who isn't trying to take advantage of anyone's generosity. I hope she is able to raise enough money to offset the cost of the surgery. I know she is also planning to contribute as much of her own money as possible.

Thank you for your kind words Oryx, I appreciate your help! I will find out Thursday when my puppy is able to get the surgery and can keep anyone who is interested posted on her recovery.
