Expressive Arts & Art Therapy offer an alternative way for individuals to express their thoughts and feelings. It helps those who may have difficulty talking about their experiences due to trauma, cognitive issues, or physical health conditions.
Through the creation of art, as well as reflection on this art, we can work together to build a supportive relationship that can help with problem solving, developing insight and self-awareness, improve self-esteem, manage stress, and enhance interpersonal skills.
"Do you have to be an artist or artistic?" - No! Both the art and the process of creating art have the unique ability to arouse feelings and emotions that may otherwise have been concealed. It is the discussion and reflection of these feelings and emotions that is important, not necessarily the final product!
