Anderson Family Farm (https://www.facebook.com/andersonfamilyfarmmb) has been raising pasture pork for over 10 years! Our pigs live on huge pastures with wallow holes, access to bush, lots of straw and live as natural of a life as we can safely provide. Our kids also sell pasture chicken.

We have a huge selection of heritage breed (Berkshire, Large Black, Tamworth crosses). Or if you are after a breed you are more used to, we also have yorkshire pigs (barn pigs) that we raised outdoors. Our pigs are between 6 months and 1 1/2 years old.

They are fed a healthy diet of mixed whole/ground grains and pasture which means they grow slower and have more flavour and no barn taste! We have not given these pigs any chemical dewormers or antibiotics or anything like that.

Our butcher shop at Spring Creek Farm located in Cypress River can process any cut of meat you desire. (www.thespringcreekfarm.ca). Visit the website to learn about processing and other cuts available. (https://www.facebook.com/thespringcreekfarm/).

A side is between 120-170lbs of meat, fits in 2-3 milk crates. Prices can vary depending on size of animal and cut options.

Typically 250-350 lb Pigs are transported to one of the local provincially Inspected Abbatoirs. Inspected harvest is about $.35/lb, and standard cut and wrap at Spring Creek Farm is about $1/lb (hanging). We can make any cut of meat and additional curing rates are posted on our website.

A typical side will run approximately $3.25-$4.25/lb of meat depending on size of animal and what cuts are made.

IMPORTANT: Public Health Orders into effect as of November 20th prevent one from having anyone inside their home who is not a resident with limited exceptions that include delivery of items and some essential services. If deeming that a classified transaction is necessary at this time, ensure that purchases and exchanges are conducted consistent with present public health orders and safe with critical priority on distancing, mask usage, thoroughly cleaning items, thoroughly washing hands and not leaving home if you or anyone in your household has symptoms of illness.
