Housekeeper (Full Time - Day Shift)
Employment Status: full time, day shift, every other weekend, hourly
Hours of Work 8:00am - 4:30pm
Position Analysis
The Housekeeper will work under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor to complete the cleaning of resident suites, common areas and linen and laundry service in compliance with the organizational standard and health code legislation. The department objective is to ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment is provided for residents, personnel, contracted service providers and guests. All areas of Rotary Villas are kept to the highest standard and all tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner. Due to the nature of the operations, proper hygiene protocols and disease control procedures must be followed carefully.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming and various other cleaning tasks in residents? suites, commercial offices, and building common areas
- The laundering and folding of residents' linens and personal laundry
- Will provide assistance to reception staff in the event of an emergency or non-emergency situation
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Competencies & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification required, or must be willing to obtain upon hire
- Previous knowledge of WHMIS program or AED training an asset
- Previous experience in laundry services, hospitality or senior care is considered an asset

Other Expectations
- Maintain a professional, but functional, appearance in dress and grooming, as well as high standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene
- Flexibility in working weekend and evening hours to meet client and Residence needs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as perform repetitive tasks such as folding linens
- Involves extensive walking, bending and lifting (up to 10kg is often required)
- A current and clear Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Search
