Administrative Assistant - Insolvency

Join the momentum. We are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our growing Insolvency team in our Brandon office. Committed to helping all stakeholders through financial challenges, MNP Limited is one of the largest insolvency practices in Canada. For more than 50 years, our experienced team of Government-Licensed Trustees and advisors have been working collaboratively with lenders and debtors at all levels to help protect their interests.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Performance Expectations

  • Process documents related to bankruptcy filings
  • Prepare forms and set-up payment arrangements as directed
  • Schedule appointments with clients
  • Monitor payments and verify deposits
  • Review income and expense statements
  • Manage incoming proof of claims
  • Complete appropriate searches, background and/or credit checks
  • Process bank deposits and complete deposit verifications
  • Pull reports and review client statuses for follow-up
  • Pick-up and drop off documents at the Court House or appropriate locations
  • File documents
  • Open, close, organize and maintain insolvency files
  • Create, format, assemble and proofread drafts
  • Answer and direct all incoming calls
  • Greet clients
  • Maintain all incoming and outgoing courier packages and mail
  • Provide general admin support to consultants, managers and partners
  • Scan and E-file documents
  • Prepare letters, as directed, using template letter formats
  • Process expense claims
  • Respond to inquiries
  • Book flights and hotels and general calendar management
  • Communicate and coordinate with the team regarding client service work and the flow of information
  • Provide support and guidance to other team members
  • Schedule team meetings

Credentials   

  • Experience working in a Professional Services environment, particularly in insolvency, considered an asset
  • Two (2) to five (5) years? experience in an administrative or support position
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience in answering and directing customer phone calls through a phone system
  • Understanding of Microsoft Outlook and learning internal databases is an asset
