The Brandon School Division is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker II - Grounds. This is a permanent position on the basis of 8.00 hours per day, Monday to Friday, 12 months per year, to commence December 7, 2020.

Purpose of Position
The Maintenance II Worker (Grounds) role is responsible for undertaking the general repairs and maintenance of grounds within Brandon School Division.
Duties and Responsibilities
Are established by the Supervisor of Facilities within the parameters of the job profile.
- Class 5 Power Engineering Certificate.
- Requires maintenance/technical knowledge including the ability to assemble, repair, renovate, maintain and install indoor and outdoor materials.
- Class 5 Driver?s License.
- Reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
- Moderate interpersonal and communication skills.
- Canadian Certified Playground Inspector.
- Certified Pesticide Applicators Certificate.
- WHMIS training/certification.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
This competition is open to applicants who meet the minimum qualifications with the exception of the Class 5 Power Engineering Certificate. The successful candidate will be required to enroll in the Class 5 Power Engineering course under the guidelines established for this posting. The salary during the training period will be that of the applicable Custodian Assistant/Labourer rate for that employee, transferring to the applicable rate for this position once the candidate successfully obtains Class 5 Power Engineering Certification.
The recruitment process for this position will consist of an interview and skills assessment.

Salary AS PER COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT.
Employment will be subject to a Criminal Record Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check completed within the four months preceding the date of application with results satisfactory to the Brandon School Division.
