LINKS Institute Administrative Assistant position
LINKS Institute is a leader in the online provision of mental health and social service education in
Manitoba. LINKS is a private vocational institute based in Brandon, but offering services throughout
the whole of Manitoba and other regions of Canada. Currently, LINKS offers three certificate programs- Community Support Worker: Mental Health, Community Support Worker: Harm Reduction, and Mental Wellness & Harm Reduction Worker diploma.
This is an exciting time for the organization, as expansion of business has resulted in the need for an Administrative Assistant.
This is a part time term position (15 hours per week, 6 months) which may develop into a permanent opportunity. Hours can be flexible: 9:00am to 12:00pm, or 1:00pm to 4:00pm- Monday to Friday. To be discussed.
Reporting to the President & CEO, and collaborating with the Manager of Academics, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative activities of the organization. As a candidate, you may have experience in higher/further education, be a critical thinker, reliable and interested in ongoing learning.
This is a remote, work from home position, with an anticipated start date in the month of December, 2021, or sooner depending on the candidate. Candidates must have their own access to the internet, a computer/laptop with web camera capabilities. A printer will be supplied if necessary. Candidates should also have a driver?s license and access to a vehicle.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Respond to day to day needs that arise as a matter of LINKS Institute class business
? Collect, file/organize prospective student and new student paperwork
? Assist with basic tasks of student registration
? Assist with scheduling meetings
? Collaborate closely with the President/CEO
Student recruitment and retention
? Work alongside the President/CEO to respond to prospective student enquiries
? Manage prospective students through the process of application and orientation
? Complete and comply with all new student registration paperwork in accordance with the Private Vocational Institutes Act
? Assist with basic marketing tasks as needed
? Complete all paperwork associated with the operation of LINKS Institute in a thorough, detail-oriented manner (student contracts, reports, etc).
? Complete paperwork in association with hiring instructors
? Call candidates, schedule interviews
? Manage all administrative processes involved in the hiring
Further education in a related field (administrative assistant, human resources, business administration) (or in progress) preferred. Consideration will be granted to a variety of educational backgrounds.
Experience in a college, university or other adult education setting would be an asset
Business acumen or experience is preferred

Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
