This is a full-time term position to August 31, 2023 and is subject to layoff or reduced hours during periods of slow activity with a possibility for yearly contract renewals. A Criminal Record Check is required, and successful candidates will be responsible for any service charges incurred.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.



Under the direction and supervision of the Lead Cook and/or Food Service Manager, the Grill Cook oversees the grill area and the grilled food preparation such as: hamburgers, sandwiches, eggs, French fries, etc., and will often work on several orders at the same time. The Grill Cook handles the broiler, deep fryer and griddle, while maintaining stock and cleaning the equipment, and other related duties as assigned.



Successful completion of High School or equivalent, a Red Seal certificate in cooking and food preparation from a recognized institution is preferred with two years of experience in commercial quantity cooking, or a comparable combination of education and experience may be considered. Five years of experience in commercial quantity cooking may be considered in lieu of certification. Certification in Safe Food Handling is required. Experience using a variety of kitchen equipment, and experience with all aspects of Special Functions, demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions. Must be able to work well under pressure both independently and in a team environment. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, leadership and a strong desire to succeed. Must have basic math skills; working with numbers and measurements, accurately and consistently. Must present a clean and tidy appearance and follow all Manitoba Health regulations concerning hair and dress.
