Brief Position Description
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our fun and fast-paced team! As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the efficient operation of our company's financial processes. Your primary focus will be on recording day-to-day financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating reports to support effective decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, a strong aptitude for numbers, and a high level of integrity. We have multiple companies in an array of industries that you would be working with so the ability to adapt and be willing to learn is crucial.
Pinnacle Event Rentals is an event rental company based in Brandon, MB servicing Southwestern Manitoba and beyond. We specialize in event infrastructure, decor and linens for events ranging from weddings to festivals and everything in between. In addition to Pinnacle, we have a sanitation business, inflatable rental business, as well as, a graphic printing division and a small portfolio of rental properties. We are a fast-paced group and are constantly looking for new ways to learn and grow.
- Recording financial transactions: Entering and classifying financial transactions, such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Reconciling accounts: Reconciling bank statements and other financial records to ensure that they align with the company's books.
- Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable: Track and manage accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Payroll processing: Processing payroll, calculating employee salaries, deducting taxes, and generating paychecks.
- Managing financial documents: Organize and maintain financial documents, such as invoices, receipts, and financial reports, to ensure their accuracy and availability for audits and financial analysis.
- Generate financial reports: Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting: Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing financial data and insights.
- Ensure compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, such as PST, GST and payroll reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications (especially Excel). Experience with QBO is an asset but not required.
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with financial statements and financial analysis.
- Solid understanding of payroll processes, PST and GST reporting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
