Job Overview: The Sales/Estimator will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and accurately estimating project costs for data and fire protection systems. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and strong communication skills to effectively engage with clients and deliver tailored solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the data and fire protection sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and contractors.
- Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and competitor activities.
- Estimating:
- Prepare accurate and competitive project estimates based on client specifications and project requirements.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and costs.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure all estimates align with project goals.
- Proposal Preparation:
- Develop detailed proposals and presentations for clients, showcasing our solutions and services.
- Address client inquiries and provide technical support during the proposal phase.
- Negotiation:
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to secure profitable agreements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution post-sale.
- Reporting:Track sales metrics and prepare regular reports on sales activities and project estimates.
- Provide feedback to management on market trends and client needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor?s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in sales and estimating within the data or fire protection industry.
- Strong understanding of data and fire protection systems, codes, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
