Job Overview
We?re seeking a full-time experienced and detail-oriented Lumber Grader Team Leader to oversee our lumber grading operations and lead a team of graders in maintaining high quality and safety standards. This role is key to ensuring that all lumber products meet industry specifications and customer expectations, while promoting a productive and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the lumber grading team
- Ensure all lumber is graded accurately according to industry and company standards
- Train, mentor, and evaluate graders to maintain consistent performance and quality
- Monitor production output to ensure efficiency and identify areas for improvement
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations
- Maintain detailed records of production and grading results
- Collaborate with quality control and operations teams to resolve grading issues
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of industry grading rules and standards
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a production setting
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to assess wood quality accurately
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment
