We are looking to rehome our Great Pyrenees (purebred not registered. We bought her from a breeder in 2020)
She needs a new farm! We are still waiting for the right person to buy our farm, but I don't want to leave it to chance that someone doesn't know how to take care of guardian dogs.
Her name is Poppy, she was born in January of 2020.
She's had one litter and was an exceptionally wonderful mom. She is not spayed.
I will not allow anyone in the area to take her as she will try and find her way back to our farm so please don?t ask if you are from Boissevain area!
She's used to chickens, ducks, cats, pigs, horses and other dogs. We have a male Great Pyrenees and they take turns guarding day and night. She also gets along well with our indoor dachshund. We also have children. She?s been around babies up to teens, and never any aggression.
She has not been great with baby animals, she does kill them. So we have had to lock up babies to protect them from her. She gets too protective of the adult animals is all we can assume because she has never attacked any grown animal we have. She was put in the coop with our chickens when she was a pup, and we have been able to successfully free range our chickens and ducks with her.
If you live near the highway or a busy dirt road she won?t be a good fit for your farm. We have neighbours who drive by our yard everyday and she chases their car to protect our yard.
Please serious inquiries only. We will list her for $150 to insure she goes to someone who wants her, as when we listed her for free we had a lot of questionable people trying to take her.
We have spent a lot of time training and working with her, all of our hard work is hard to let go of because we really love our animals but unfortunately with our move we can?t bring her with. We want her to go to an equally caring home.
