Sorry about the title folks, but I have just been reviewing different markets this morning after the drubbing we endured yesterday, and things have really taken a beating. The question I am asking myself is this just a correction, and we are blowing off a bit of steam, or did we make a turn back in mid to late summer, and now are in a new bull market. There were many bits of information that have come out showing a slowing of the worlds economies, and now it seems that finally someone has taken notice. There has been a great appreciation in the US dollar which is somewhat similar to a move in the Japanese currency years ago which led to an economy that stagnated, will we see the same thing for the US. Many economists are saying No it won't happen, but many of those people still haven't adopted the idea of a world economy. One of the biggest moves has been in the energy markets which has pulled WTI to the $84, and even Brent crude is now under $90. Hopefully these lower oil prices lead to lower gas prices but I'm not holding my breath on that. Just checking markets shows a lot of red again this morning, but maybe before the end of the day we will see a bounce since it is the weekend and some profit taking might occur. Although a lot of people don't take much mind of the markets, one should, since they can and do have an influence on all of us.
