pet friendly stores

Hi there EBrandon, my friend from out of town is bringing a dog with her and wants to be able to take her into some shops with her. The question is other than pet stores where else can someone bring their dog ?

Unless her dog is a service animal, I don't believe places other than pet stores permit dogs to be inside.

Winner''s is pet friendly. If you do not believe me, google it.

Animals are not allowed in stores where food is prepared or served however, with the exception of course being service animals.

My apologies then. When I worked retail I was always under the impression only service animals are allowed in stores if it's not a pet store. I guess every store may have its own policy.

Best to call around and ask or look online.

Peavey Mart

Peavey Mart is pet friendly, as long as your dog is on a leash or in your arms.

Home Hardware?

I think it was Home Hardware I recently saw signage that said dogs were okay.

I have taken my little dog into Canadian Tire. It was hot and I had to make a stop on my way through town, so I explained that to the Customer Service desk. They said it was fine as long as I carried him or he was in the cart.

thanks

We ended up just taking him to the pet shop where he got to at least socialize. I didn’t realize he was just gonna be a puppy. But I think it’s still a good thread considering all the hot weather we are getting.

Pharmacies

Non-service animals are not permitted due to possible health issues with patients. There are actually quite hefty fines too. In Ontario it is up to $5000. I assume Manitoba will be similar.
