When I was a kid the sportsplex had these giant bowls that floated and you could sit in them! Anyone remember? They were fun, wish they still had them for my kids to play in. Probably a liability issue these days. Liability ruins everything.

There isn’t really a lot there to attract people anymore! Even the floaty thing is gone

Really? I went there in the late 80' and early 90's and they had lots of bowls! I will see if I can find one online to show you.

They were definitely there at that time, and they were a lot of fun. Absolutely a liability issue these days though, haha.

Flip em upside down and swim under the dome was great. I am guessing that there were some issues for sure as I haven't  
seem them in over 20 years, around here anyway,

I can't even find a picture of one online. Oh well.

Is this anything like what used to be at the Sportsplex?

The one's I remember were large plastic "tubs" shaped like bowls, could fit you and a friend. We used to spin each other around in them!  
Lots of fun, until you become trapped underneath!!  
I remember almost drowning under one of these! It flipped upside down and sunk to the bottom. I was trapped when it became suctioned to the bottom! If I had been smaller/younger, (I was probably 8 - 10 years old) there's no way I would have known to or been able to pry my fingers underneath the rim and lift it off of myself! Never used them again after that!!!  
 
I have since heard horror stories from lifeguards about how much of a hassle they were. Glad they are gone! And its interesting, you can't find even a picture of them on the internet now!!
