An article from CTV News Winnipeg regarding the current anti-mask rally being held in Steinbach. This is shameful and embarrassing. (Sat 2:50pm) Organizers estimate there are about 500 people in attendance at the Steinbach “freedom” rally. Current health orders limit gathering sizes to five people or less. @ctvwinnipeg Less than three kilometres from the rally is the Bethesda Regional Health Centre where a major COVID outbreak is ongoing. In the City of Steinbach there are currently 263 active cases and 14 deaths caused by COVID-19 according to provincial data. @ctvwinnipeg https://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/mobile/ticket-handed-out-at-steinbach-anti-mask-rally-1.5189212?fbclid=:IwAR3cnTjfLmttat29J9xZYgKFVxM6WAtjhJL0xmUKaKB89y3sBYU_gK3Rv9Q Edited by bdn438, 2020-11-14 15:28:14
BREAKING: The Reeve of La Broquerie, one of the speakers at the Steinbach rally, was just handed a $1,296 ticket for violating public health orders. He says he put a “target on my back” by speaking out. @ctvwinnipeg pic.twitter.com/Q0X9T2sfCP— Danton Unger (@dantonunger) November 14, 2020

Statement at the link below from Manitoba’s justice minister. Please read in full, including noting the final paragraph: “ Manitobans have been warned and, if they choose to participate in events that openly disregard public health orders, they can expect that enforcement action will be taken. We all need to do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Manitoba. As Dr. Roussin says, the best way to do that is to stay home. That is the message that we all need to follow – stay home.” https://news.gov.mb.ca/news/?archive=&item=49818
Further to this, it was said at today's media briefing that over the past ten days Steinbach's test positivity rate is 40% (not a typo). The provincial five day average is 13.7%.
