Hey all.  
 
Just looking for some info/advice on this situation I’m in.  
 
Currently I am driving a co worker home every night who doesn’t have a vehicle or license. With these new rules implemented with our current situation, should I be telling this coworker that I can’t legally drive him home anymore (even though we aren’t from the same household, yet we work in close proximity all shift) or am I in the clear?  
I would hate to have to leave the guy hanging because of these rules...but rules are rules and I don’t particularly want a fine for doing a good deed. Am I over thinking this?

Unfortunately this isn't allowed. People have been pulled over in Winnipeg checking to make sure that the only ones in the vehicle are their family in their residence. Unless they are alone and you are their "one", I don't think that you are supposed to have anybody in vehicles with you as there is a "huge" risk in such a small area. I think some of the clusters have been from car pooling to work. Better to be safe! and not get a huge fine.

I suppose we'll always see different ideas on what should/shouldn't be done but this is what I found when I googled "carpooling during code red"

Advice for carpooling:  
 
It can be difficult to maintain proper social distancing in a vehicle.  
If you are sick, stay home and do not carpool.  
If you continue to carpool with people outside your immediate household, limit this to one additional passenger and have that individual sit in the back passenger side seat with the windows open if possible.  
Have passengers place their belongings in the trunk of the vehicle.  
Clean your hands often, do not touch your face, practice cough/sneeze etiquette and disinfect your vehicle regularly, paying particular attention to high-touch areas (e.g., door handles, window controls).

I have seen taxis with passengers in the back seat. what is the diff, ride to work is essential, what if the guy loses his job because he has no tranpo to work? Yes there are buses but they don't always go when or where one wants to go. Taxis aren't cheap s finances could become a problem .

I would guess it may be in the spirit of being against the guidelines. Having said that in your case, you are taking a coworker so the person can be considered part of a cohort so I can see it being 'okayish' though not the ideal. Then one can ask the question of what's the difference of what you are doing versus a person driving in a shuttle vehicle, being in a taxi or using the transit. Which one of those options is 'safer'?  
 
Maybe wearing a mask while driving your coworker. Get an answer from both your boss and somebody within the government explaining the situation.

Its not allowed at my work place during work hours, we have to drive seperate and meet at the work location.  
 
That being said, not sure if its allowed if you sanitize, mask, and try and sit as far away (?backseat) in car as possible as taxi's still running).  
 
I just passed a Brandon School Division large maintenance type vehicle at 11:45am near JR Reed school with 2 employees sitting side by side not wearing masks. That seems quite against the rules?

Be the day that anyone is going to tell me I can’t carpool! Masks on, I’m no different than a taxi, who doesn’t follow the regulations if they are actually accurate. I’m a staunch advocate for staying safe but to say that a taxi can do it and not me is pushing that boundary! This is getting ridiculous!! So if an ambulance is called for someone??

I beg to differ and would like to see the written health order that pertains to this. I highly doubt that anyone has been pulled over in MB recently for this reason. Carpooling with another family is the only way my 13 year old student can get to and from high school since BSD eliminated bussing for the HS students (with 2 weeks notice I might add). I wouldn’t keep my job very long if I had to leave at 3:30 every day to pick him up. It can still be done safely. If you work or go to school together every day I think a 10 min car ride with masks on and sitting one in the front seat and one in the back seat is fine. Also, I just took a shuttle from one of the car repair places in town and that was allowed.

with the foot stompers. The rules are in place for a reason. If I had a dollar for every time I told someone that THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU I would be very wealthy. Grow up, quit your whining and focus on saving lives as opposed to taking them.  
 
You know what I think is ridiculous? A child dying from a virus we knew nothing of a year ago. Senior citizens lying in their beds in care facilities hungry and dehydrated, knowing everyone around them is becoming ill and terrified of dying alone. Over 300 deaths in this vastly underpopulated province, most of them recent as selfish, pathetic people insisted on carrying on Thanksgiving and Halloween without disruption to their self-involved lives.  
 
You know what I think is "pushing that boundary"? Going on about what YOU feel is acceptable in the middle of a pandemic without any thought or consideration to those reading who have lost people they love because of the inability of so many to sacrifice for the sake of saving lives. Get over yourself and have a little perspective.

Relax Gus no one is stomping feet. I also agree with Pasquale I don't see how it's any different than a taxi. Also how is it any different from the local "landscape" company's driving around with 5 or 6 people in the same truck. Clearly they don't live in the same household. But regardless BPS is not issuing barely, if any tickets anyway so not a chance they pull you over and hassle you about it. My advice would be keeping doing it but take as many precautions as you can.

Employer supplies ride home after late shift, but the employees have to share the cab is this right?

What, in your opinion, is the difference between you and an ambulance?
