Haven’t seen anything that says it’s against public health orders to car pool. The EngageMB (Gov run site) screen capture above posted by Andrlo is the most current I’ve seen and is what I take as the guidance on this right now. Transportation is going to have a different status than social gatherings since people do need to be able to get around for work reasons, school, necessities and not everyone has access the same means (nobody wants to read a story about somebody walking 20 blocks in minus 40).
Intuitively I’d say any chance one gets to safely avoid an unnecessary contact outside of household right now (especially in a confined space) they should be taking it. Percentage of contacts are cases, percentage of those cases are hospitalizations and health care system is being stretched to the limit. Another reason why we've seen temp closures of unnecessary things, reducing reasons to go out. Some folks pick apart isolated parts of any given closure decision, but less reasons to go out = less contacts!
