With Donald Trump sent packing in the United States on Wednesday we here in Canada saw the Governor General Julie Payette and her secretary hit the bricks yesterday.People like them the world is better off without them.Bullying,harassing and plain stupidity is not needed especially now during a pandemic.Employees are giving it there all (the ones that still have jobs anyway)and are put under more fear and stress about their job worrying about how long they have left to work after putting in many years of service.Is this the way of the land now to get rid of long term staff?Seems to be the way.NOW maybe with the removal of the Governor General this will be the start of a respectful workplace free of all the bullying,harassing and lies.

Yes it's good Trump is gone, it will be interesting to see how his impeachment plays out. I would think he shouldn't be able to run again or receive the pay he would get as a former President, plus jail time.  
As for the former GG, I don't think paying her $243,000/year sets a very good deterrent for any future harassers. Where else would someone be rewarded for being let go/resigning for bad behavior. Most people who have a work pension pay into it and usually with an equal amount payed by employer and I wouldn't think that in her few years as GG she'd have that kind of money coming to her. Government officials cost us a lot of money after they've done their time in office as it is never mind paying someone who doesn't play nice with others.

the part that gets me is apart from the annuity ( seems most upper management positions have this, healthcare CEO.s) so in a way it doesn't matter how poorly a job is done there is no downside.  
but there is also "they are entitled to a lifetime expense program for office and travel expenses because it is thought a GG is for life even if not in office" goodwill ambassador etc  
no matter how good or bad they were at it,  
I'm thinking whenever her name comes up I won't be thinking about how well she represents Canada ( important) and the Queen ( less important)

won't serve in a clinical role he will just be responsible for the finances that fund the clinical roles!!!! no experience in healthcare yet he will decide and fund the programming, I would think a modicum( seems that is all he has) of knowledge is not good for these trying times

In a government situation or many other jobs, you can be a boss and not know the job of your people but can still be the boss, good or bad. It isn't right but that is how governments operate, sadly to say. All they do is collect the bucks that we earned for them.

When a Government does a cabinet shuffle a Health Minister can do that one day and then the next become Justice Minister with no experience.Most if not all doctors and lawyers go to school for years .
