Are you only having this problem since changing the needle, or did you change the needle trying to solve the problem?
If it's only since changing the needle, try a different needle or like mentioned above, make sure it's installed properly.
Check your tensioner. Is it not catching, or is it breaking?
Take it apart and clean it, especially under the feed dogs. Your manual should have the instructions on how to do this. If you don't have a manual, most are available online.
Once you eliminate all those steps, then it's probably a timing issue. That's more complicated to solve, but not impossible. There's some good Youtube vids that explain the steps for that. My husband changed a blown gear on my Singer and then had to reset the timing, he was able to do it all following YouTube.
